Natural resources, what exactly a natural resource, why are natural resource so important to society. In simple terms, a natural resource are organic materials that are found within nature that gives use to human beings. Mankind has come a very long way when it comes to the utilization of Earth's resources, allowing technological, medical, and much more advancements to help us evolve. The resources that we us are categorized into two groups "Renewable and Nonrenewable resources." Renewable resources have subcategories of solar, wind, and biomass, but what does it mean when a resource is renewable. Basically, it means that the resource is able to replenish itself after use. Which is a plus for humans because we have a knack for using as copious amounts of energy every day. Then there are our Nonrenewable resources such as fossil fuels, minerals, and nuclear power. Of course, the meaning of nonrenewable resources will be the opposite of renewable. These types of resources are unable to restore themselves, so once they are gone, they're gone. With that being said we have to be very cautious on how much we use them. Though with every evolution there will always be side effects that hurt the process. When using our renewable resources, it does have environmental impact such as pollution, habitat loss, and climate change. For the nonrenewable resources it is a matter of sustainability, to not overuse to the point where we don't have any left. Knowing this we have placed procedures to help preserve the limited resources, such as recycling, conservation, and renewable technology.
